Steven's often voiced aesthetic bias for simplicity and elegance in all areas of design translates into a passion for creating usable software, and he is a fierce advocate of the user's perspective in the software development lifecycle.
Steven's path to Usability Matters has been built in the course of a career in user experience design that spans over 10 years. It is a path that has included small entrepreneurial software companies and prestigious financial enterprises, and which has now come full circle to the rewarding environment of the small creative firm that is Usability Matters. Among the firms Steven has worked with are Fidelity Investments, RBC, CIBC and CGI, and the financial software company FMC. Prior to his entry into the world of user experience, Steven worked in the performing arts, including a lengthy stint of production planning and technological deployments at the National Ballet of Canada.
Since joining Usability Matters, Steven has had the pleasure of working on projects for Microsoft, Alliance Atlantis, CBC, CIBC, Honda Canada, Nissan, Securit and Lavalife.
In his personal life, Steven spends time with his two greyhounds, both retired racing dogs, and is actively involved in programs which rescue and transition these wonderful animals into a domestic lifestyle once their track careers are over.
