Meredith's passion for solving usability problems began as a high school student, when she provided phone support for internet companies and realized with horror just how difficult new technologies can be for ordinary people.

Her path led her to finish a degree in Computer Engineering in 2005, and as her undergraduate thesis was titled "Needs Analysis and Preliminary Prototyping for a Context-Aware Name Recollection Tool", it isn't hard to see why she was such a good fit for Usability Matters. While in school, Meredith spent three summers as a User Experience Intern and a Technical Writing Intern, for Sun Microsystem's Java Consumer Software group. After graduating she went to work as a Software Developer for Intelliware Development, where she practiced and thoroughly enjoyed the agile programming methodology known as "Extreme Programming".

Since joining Usability Matters, Meredith has worked on projects for the CBC, the Toronto Star, John Wiley and Sons, Expedia, CIBC and Workopolis.

Meredith spends some of her personal time in a number of online communities, and she's been blogging since 1999!
